BNC First Day® Complete Comes to Walsh University

Walsh University has announced a new partnership with Barnes & Noble College to implement BNC First Day® Complete, a course material delivery model that will drive affordability, access and convenience for students. Walsh is one of the first universities in Ohio to implement this program that will help students take the guesswork out of purchasing textbooks and course materials.

BNC First Day® Complete Comes to Walsh UniversityBeginning with the fall 2021 semester, Walsh University students will have the ability to bundle the cost of materials such as textbooks and lab manuals into their tuition and fees at a flat rate. The program results in a 35 to 50 percent average reduction in cost to students, and ensures they have all of their materials for the semester available to them on or before the first day of class. First Day Complete fully supports academic freedom and faculty choice. Faculty members can choose the materials that are best suited for their teaching, regardless of publisher or format.

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the BNC First Day® Complete program. After students have registered for their courses, they will receive an email from the Bookstore prompting them to select their preferred fulfillment method. The Bookstore will prepare the materials for each student, and notify them when the materials have shipped or are available for in-store pickup. Digital materials will be delivered directly through students’ learning management system.

“We are pleased to partner with Walsh University to drive success and affordability through this new course material delivery model,” said Jonathan Shar, EVP, Retail & Client Solutions, Barnes & Noble Education. “With First Day Complete, students are prepared for class starting on day one, ensuring there are no gaps in learning. In addition to its positive impact on student success, First Day Complete also offers unmatched convenience and enhanced affordability. We know that this program will have substantial benefits for Walsh students, and we are excited to work with Walsh to bring it to campus this fall.”
