23 Feb Cedar Care Pharmacy Vaccinating Cedar Cliff Teachers
Cedar Care Village Pharmacy, the teaching pharmacy of the Cedarville University School of Pharmacy in downtown Cedarville, has received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine and began vaccinating faculty members from Cedar Cliff Schools on Monday. All of the vaccinations are given at Cedar Care Village Pharmacy.
In addition to its primary focus of vaccinating Cedar Cliff faculty, Cedar Care will also have 100 doses of the vaccine for people in the local community that are at high risk. According to Dr. Thad Franz, associate professor of pharmacy practice at Cedarville University and pharmacist Cedar Care Village Pharmacy, the pharmacy is currently working through its waiting list before it opens the vaccine up to the general public. The pharmacy will announce on its website when the general public can sign up for a COVID vaccine shot.
“We desire nothing more than to serve our community well and do our part to get on the other side of this pandemic,” said Franz. “We want to provide the vaccine in a way that is timely and convenient to our patients that we serve on a regular basis.
“We not only desire to vaccinate but to educate about the vaccine and respond to concerns about the vaccine each patient has,” continued Franz. “During this waiting time to receive our doses, we have been preparing education, scheduling and consent tools so that we will be ready as we receive the product. I can truly say that our COVID vaccine service is a full team effort!”
