20 Jan John Carroll University Represents at Super Bowl
They may not be as highly visible as past Blue Streaks in the big game, but recent graduates Danny Markino and Jalen Myrick keep a great tradition alive when it comes to John Carroll University and the Super Bowl.
With Markino and Myrick part of the administrative staff for the Kansas City Chiefs, Super Bowl LIV will be the 23nd edition of the National Football League championship game to feature a connection to John Carroll University.
Markino, a 2018 JCU grad, serves as a Season Communications Specialist for the Chiefs. He was with the Cleveland Browns in a similar role for the 2018 season and had worked for the Browns as an undergraduate as well.
Myrick, a 2019 graduate of John Carroll, is in his first year with the Chiefs. Born in Kansas City, Myrick had worked with the Chiefs and the Indianapolis Colts as an undergraduate.
Both Markino and Myrick worked for the John Carroll University Sports Information Office under Christopher Wenzler while earning their degrees. The duo also played football at John Carroll – Markino was a long snapper from 2014-2017, while Myrick was a linebacker from 2015-17.
Super Bowl LIV is scheduled to be played on February 2, 2020, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. EST, and the game will air on the Fox television network.
