Pop-Up Courses Available to Mount Union Incoming Students

The University of Mount Union is committed to warmly welcoming incoming first year and transfer students by providing unique academic experiences. Thus, the institution is offering new, week-long pop-up courses to first-year and transfer students this summer at no cost.

Mount Union to Offer Free Pop-Up Courses to Incoming StudentsOffered throughout Mount Union’s second summer session from July 6 – August 16, all new incoming students who have paid deposits will have the ability to take one of 13 fully online pop-up courses for free. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participating students will earn one credit toward their Mount Union degree requirements.

Pop-up courses are focused, low-stress courses in which a variety of topics will be available, introducing students to skills or themes are not often covered in traditional Mount Union courses.

“As the 2020-2021 academic year approaches, we recognize the uncertainties incoming students may be experiencing,” said Dr. Christopher Marks, associate professor of biology at Mount Union. “We want to ensure incoming students continue to be excited about their decision to join the Mount Union community.”
