BA in Christian Ministry added to MVNU’s online programs

Mount Vernon Nazarene University has developed a completely online program directed to those called to serve God’s Kingdom. The Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry degree was designed for students of all ages and any level of college experience with a deep desire for ministry preparation that provides a broad theological foundation and also offers opportunity for students to process real life experience with their instructors and peers.

BA in Christian Ministry added to MVNU’s online programs“MVNU has been preparing ministers for over 50 years and has a long history of developing relevant programs for those called to serve the church,” said Eric Stetler, Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. “The online option continues to offer the same rigorous, integrated approach to ministry preparation as our traditional residential program, but has been tailored to meet the needs for those who cannot attend in-person.”

The degree provides well-rounded theological and practical education for any type of ministry within the local church or Christian non-profit ministry. Women and men from all denominations, non-denominational settings, and non-profit ministries are welcome within the MVNU family. The Christian Ministry ordination track is a denominationally approved program for completion of ordination requirements for the Church of the Nazarene. Upon completion of the complete BACM and ordination concentration, all educational requirements for ordination are met.

“The current need for ministers in the 21st century church demands committed and called individuals who are equipped both spiritually and mentally for the challenges of this age,” said Michael VanZant, Program Coordinator. “God calls women and men, empowers them with abilities and spiritual gifts, yet calls them to prepare their minds, also. Today’s ministry needs leaders who are biblically sound, spiritually in tune with God, and equipped for creative, intentional, and missional ministry. The Christian Ministry degree enables students to explore and develop the gifts God has already provided.”
