28 Sep MVNU Music Department Presents Concert at Ariel-Foundation Park
The Music Department at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) will perform a fall concert on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3:30 p.m., in the Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel-Foundation Park. This concert will be the first performance of the MVNU ensembles since the beginning of the 2020 pandemic.
The concert will include a wide variety of music featuring the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Flute Choir, Jazz Band, Goliards Chamber Choir, Treble Singers Women’s Choir, and Collegians Chorale. Instrumental ensemble directors are Dr. John Packard, Jennifer Packard, and Dr. Isaac Winland. Choral directors are Dr. Robert Tocheff, Elizabeth Barrett, and Sabina Anderson.
“Ensemble members are excited for the opportunity to perform and especially to perform for the Mount Vernon and Knox County community,” said Dr. John Packard, Music Department Chair.
MVNU and Ariel-Foundation Park abide by local, state, and federal protocols regarding COVID-19. Audience members in the Event Center will be required to wear masks. Weather permitting, guests are also welcome to bring a lawn chair and sit outside the Event Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
