08 Mar UF Pharmacy Program to Offer New Track for Bachelor Degree Holders
University of Findlay’s College of Pharmacy now offers a professional track to enter the Pharmacy program. This track is designed for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree or pre-professional coursework and are looking to apply to a four-year professional pharmacy program. The University plans to enroll the first class of students in the professional track in August 2021.
“At the University of Findlay, we can meet you where you are, whether that’s coming straight from high school, after some college education, or after earning another degree. This really opens the door to a truly rewarding career in healthcare,” said Debra Parker, Pharm.D., dean of the college of pharmacy. “We are very pleased to be able to offer this pathway to a Pharm.D.”
While enrolled in Findlay’s College of Pharmacy, students can expect an unparalleled experiential learning experience. Findlay’s Pharmacy program prepares students to be knowledgeable, confident and capable professionals. UF’s small class sizes and experienced professors make the UF College of Pharmacy an experience unlike any other.
UF’s College of Pharmacy welcomes academically talented students from accredited four-year colleges around the world. Students may enter directly into the professional years of our program, with or without a bachelor’s degree, as long as all prerequisites have been met.
Findlay’s College of Pharmacy graduates average a 95%+ job placement rate. “In 2018, the starting salary for pharmacists ranged from $121,252 to $125,767,” according to a Chronicle of Higher Education article. “Pharmacists are such an important part of the healthcare team. Every day they are helping their patients to live healthier lives,” added Parker.
“Though our program is sought after for our 0+6 direct entry option for students coming right out of high school, many people don’t realize we now offer this new professional pharmacy track,” added Lori Ernsthausen, Pharm.D., associate professor of pharmacy practice and associate dean for curricular affairs. “Students who enter into the professional pharmacy track can expect to graduate with their Pharm.D. degree within four years.”
