Mount Union’s College of Natural and Health Sciences Name Directors

The University of Mount Union’s College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) has announced that Dr. Timothy Meyers and Dr. Sheryl Holt have been named the Director of Nursing and Director of Physical Therapy, respectively.

College of Natural and Health Sciences DirectorMeyers comes to Mount Union from Kent State University where he served as a professor of nursing and director of its accelerated nursing program, as well as its undergraduate honors coordinator. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in evaluation and measurement from Kent State, a Master of Science in Nursing in nursing education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

College of Natural and Health Sciences DirectorHolt, a member of the Mount Union faculty as an assistant professor of physical therapy since 2015, earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Kent State University, a Master of Science in physical therapy from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from Georgia State University.

Dr. Betty Allen was also promoted to assistant program director of nursing in early 2020. Allen, who also joined Mount Union in 2015 as an assistant professor, earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Malone University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Valparaiso University, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Purdue University and a Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing.

“Mount Union is extremely fortunate to have exceptional faculty such as Drs. Holt and Allen that could be asked to take on these critical roles,” said Dr. Sandra Madar, founding dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences. “We are also excited about Dr. Meyers’ portfolio of program development and innovation. Perhaps most importantly, each demonstrate a deep commitment to service to students that lies at the heart of our mission as a teaching centered university.”
