Tiffin University to Present Virtual Student Research Conference

Tiffin University will host its second annual Virtual Research Conference on Tuesday, April 21, from 4 to 9 p.m. using Blackboard Collaborate. The “Impact of Research” is the theme of this year’s conference.

The institution his hosting a Virtual Research Conference called Sponsored by TU’s Center for Online and Extended Learning, graduate and undergraduate online students will present live in a virtual room. They will share their knowledge and expertise in their field of study.

The virtual conference will also include a keynote, “Fact of Fiction: Exploring preferences for information consumption,” by Kaylee Lassko, TU graduate and former Virtual Research Conference participant. Lassko’s research explores information consumed across media types with a focus on the propagation of disinformation and misinformation. She is a Senior Operations Research Analyst/Lead Effects Coordinator for SkyBridge Tactical at the U.S. Central Command in Information Operations.

“We want our online students to set themselves apart from other graduates by applying their knowledge and cultivating a professional identity in their field,” said Dr. Michelle Meadows, Chair of the Masters in Education Program and co-planner of this conference.
